Vaccination Centre – Volunteer Marshals required for October 2022 – Blandford Hosptial.
Volunteer Centre Dorset supports the NHS and national vaccination effort by recruiting volunteer marshals at the vaccination centres across Dorset. The centres which are currently managed by the vaccination programme in the Dorset Council area are in Weymouth, Bridport and Blandford. As you may be aware, a large cohort of people have again been invited to come for a covid booster, and now it is also flu vax season. The Blandford Vaccination Centre operates at Blandford Hospital from 9:30-5 each Saturday. There are two Volunteer Marshall sessions, each being four hours – from 9:00-1, then 1-5. Ideally, we need three people on each shift (but possibly more at the moment while it is so busy), so that volunteers can have breaks.
The Vaccination Centre at Blandford Hospital has been inundated with patients arriving for their booster vaccinations. We have been supporting as best we can with volunteers, however we are struggling to recruit people in Blandford. Could you promote this within your networks to see if there is anyone who might be interested in helping?
Volunteers can sign up using this link and they will receive an induction, training and support. We are able to reimburse volunteers for their travel expenses – either public transport or mileage (45p per mile). We are encouraging people to sign up with a friend of they would like to work with someone they know – but our group of volunteers are so friendly and helpful.
